Puch the „apple town“, in the heart of the „Styrian Apple Route“

When the fragrance of spring is in the air then it’s also the time to experience a sea of blossoms from the apple trees.

From the end of April to the beginning of May a million fruit trees lining the 25 km long Styrian Apple Route begin to blossom and the road is blanketed in white and pink clouds.

The highlight is the Feast of the Blossoming Apple Trees on the last sunday in April!

And while discovering the farmer’s harvest of fruits, fruit juices, cider and eloquent schnapps you might even meet the „Appleman“.
Also on the apple route there are many Mostenschenken and Buschenschenken (traditional rustic taverns offering home-made foods and drinks) in additional to the numerous inns which offer an exquisite cuisine to entice visitors to a welcome stop off.

In autumn the „Styrian Apple Route“ turns into a paradise rich in vitamins, the fruits ripening to their fullest in the very favourable Styrian climate. This season also plays host to the newly introduced „Autumn of the apple route“, a further revelation of the area where visitors can experience many cultural and culinary events.

The culmination of all these festivities is a trip along the apple route on the 3rd sunday in September (19.9.2010).
